Reason for this post is ofcourse higgs boson. I was reminded of Physics after a long time soon after this invention.

Physics has always been my favorite subject since my school days. I liked the way Newton and Einstein explained Gravity and relativity respectively in a simpler terminology.

PS: I can recite newtons law of motion even if you wake me up in the middle of the night.

Physics is the most beautiful thing which explains the things that are already existing in a way human understands.

I had always liked to understand how the universe was formed. Black Holes, Red Giants and white Dwarfs were all my favorite topics in my school days.

Another most interesting thing in physics is the practicals which we do in our school. I used to be very poor in my initial days and have improved subsequently as the time progressed.

There was an experiment in my school days to find out Accelerator due to gravity(g) using simple pendulum. We all knew the correct answer of this is always 9.8 msec.

Hence i manipulated my readings of the experiment and brought the final output to 9.8 msec (per my experiment it should have been only 9.6 m/sec) in order to please my teacher that i have done the experiment accurately.

Few months passed and a new chapter came up in my book which explained how Acceleration due to gravity(g)  used to change based on latitude, longitude and altitude. and g value is always 9.8 msecs only in equator.  

Then i suddenly thought about my simple pendulum on how I manipulated (g) of simple pendulum.

I am located in Neyveli which is not the equator and it is certainly above the equator and it can never be 9.8. and what i have done originally by doing the experiment is the correct answer.

This has taught me a important thing about physics.

Whenever you are getting accurate results for an experiment in physics, it means that You are most likely doing the experiment wrongly.

 

Thoughts around this years french open.

I was thinking of blogging about it for the past 10 days. But haven't got time to do so. It was a great 2 weeks at French Open where Sharapova and Nadal made history in their own way. Nothing inspired the most like the 2 womens french Open Finalists. We all know how sharapova is marketed and presented by their endorsement agencies.

She earns more money than any of the female athletes earn in this world. She has got enough fame to lead her entire life. She is the most Goggled personality in the world even with out playing tennis for a year. She has been injured for more than a year. Her comeback from injury is not smooth. It took almost 3 years to enter into top 10. Lost 2 Grand Slam Finals miserably.


Still...she did'nt give up..
She proved it all depends on what we set as priority to us in our lives. No one would have gone through such a long struggle with the shoulder injury to get back to the top (Many of them would have called a it a day). It is her sheer determination and hardwork that took her to the finally elusive Grandslam. All the best to her and wish her all in success in future.


Honestly, I have never heard anything about this other women in the final till the last week of French Open. She proudly says that her father sells fruits and vegetables in Italy.

After readin it, I felt , Oh my god, how much I am  blessed with . 
I have lead a good life in the past 24 years. I should not  complain about anything i have in life and it is in my hands to make my life better.

Movie or a Book

I was one of the firsts to put up the cover of Revolution 2020 on my blog as soon as it is released as i found the front cover very attractive which is very similar to a movie first look. First look of the movies are very important along with the marketing and publicity campaigns. All the so called block busters of last year in Hindi like Ready (which failed miserably as uthama puthiran in Tamil), BodyGaurd and Ra One have manged the more than 60 % of the collections in the first week itself. That is very well before the verdict of the movie is out and word of mouth of the people who has already seen the movie spreads.Let me not deviate and come back to R2020.

We all know 3 Idiots Movie is loosely based on 5 point Some one which went to become historic block buster of all times. I think Chetan was trying to create a movie script and mistakenly released it as a book.

The book consists of all sorts of cinematic elements in it and it is as good as watching a bad movie. Though there are flashes of brilliance in his writing when he describes the girl gift to Gopal. 

I wish Chetan better luck next time and my sincere advice is to keep the target audience in mind and not think about adapting the book to the movie.

Wondering whether the high school dropouts only can become millionaires and own huge business empires.

There are plenty of examples to it including Bill gates. What does all the people who complete their education become? They all are still middle level managers when the corresponding school drop outs hit the market headlines everyday. It is always a open debate on whether MBA students become or the person who has the practical knowledge of the functioning of the world is a good entrepreneur.
